Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge

Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge (3 km. Sandy Beaches, St. Croix) – located at the southwest end of St, Croix, this is another destination for eco-tourists. A major draw here is the migration of various species of turtles for nesting by the beaches here. Visitors can access the park from either Frederiksted or from the end of the 4-lane (Melvin H. Evans Hwy). Hours: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (weekends only) (closed on other days). Note: the refuge and beach are closed April 1 – September 1 during turtle nesting season in order to protect turtle nests and hatchlings. Visitors can schedule
a Turtle Watch for a group of 15 to 30 participants by calling: 340/690 9452.
