Frederick Lutheran Church
Frederick Lutheran Church (7 Norre Gade, near Emancipation Garden, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas 00802) – this historic church is another structure that goes back to the islands’ colonial era under Denmark. Since Lutheranism was the state religion in Denmark, this church served the local Danish population that lived in St. Thomas in those days. Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday- Saturday). Free admission.
Legislature Building (Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas) – this two story structure was previously a wooden structure back in 1828 (when it was used as barracks for the Danish police). Rebuilt in its current brick form in 1874, it ended up being used by the U.S. Marines between 1917 and 1930, and later on as a public school. Nowadays, it serves as the offices of the Virgin Islands Legislature.
